Project O
3D CG rendered images and videos, 2023-2024Project O investigates the entanglement of perspectives in the perception and construction of events. Focusing on a single leaf affected by a remote fire, it traces the event through three distinct modes of visualisation. By adapting common techniques of data measurement and representation within the processes of photogrammetry and event simulation, the project interrogates the conditionality of these sensing and sense-making methods, foregrounding their inherent situatedness.
Through a zoom-in focus on a single leaf, the project echoes contemporary media practices in which individual testimonies, emotions, and fragments of experience become narratives and headlines, often eclipsing the complex, processual emergence of incidents and the formation of events themselves.
It is a site where temporalities overlap, a situated close-up of a larger event.
It is a site where stories intersect, a fragmented visual cue that offers no conclusion, only further questions.
